Two Months!

Yesterday marked BB's two month mark (even though he's really nine weeks today) and I cannot believe how fast time is flying! He changes everyday and is the love of our life. It's so hard to imagine what life was like before him. He has his two month appointment with the pediatrician on Thursday so I'll update then with weight, length and head circumference.

Sleep: Brody loves to sleep and is really quite great at it. His first sleep stretch has been increasing over the past two weeks but for the last 5 days or so it has been at least 8 hours and sometimes closer to 9.5. He eats and then goes back to sleep for another hour or hour and a half. However, this morning seemed to be the exception because when he woke up at 4:30 after an 8.5 hour stretch he was wide awake and wanted to play. He was awake for an hour and then fell asleep for another two hours or so. During the day he usually takes a 60-90 minute nap in the morning and late afternoon and lots of small cat naps during the day. Sometimes these cat naps happen anywhere. Yesterday he fell asleep playing in the jungle....

Play: He is more alert in between sleeping and eating now and enjoys playing on his back and tummy on his play gym, smiling and cooing at the dogs and cat, hanging in his swing and reaching for the sky with his hands. He has not started grabbing at things yet but will swat at the toys hanging in the gym and will tracks then toys if you hold them above his head and move them from side to side.

Eat: He is becoming really efficient with nursing and spending a lot less time attached to me. He eats about every 2.5-3 hours during the day for about 10-15 minutes (sometimes more, sometimes less.) He does great with taking a bottle and usually only eats from a bottle if we're out and about but in a few weeks he'll be doing lots of bottle feeding at daycare. I have been using the Medela bottles but he seems to spit up a ton so I need to try the Dr. Brown's I have in storage.

Happy two months sweet boy!
