Motivational Monday #2 Come Link Up!

Thanks for coming back and joining Shannon, Becky and myself for Motivational Monday #2!  I love reading your posts and can't wait to see what inspiration is linked this week.

My message this week is simple:

People can be hateful, but know yourself and create your own path.  Be happy with your choices and know that your goals belong to you and no one should ever have the opportunity to derail those.

This past week Aaron and I have been receiving some feedback regarding our lifestyle choices to eat more healthy, clean foods, and to be honest it's humorous to me.  If eating clean, such as, avoiding processed foods and granulated sugar, enjoying grass-fed meat, and fruits and vegetables grown without dangerous pesticides is something people can't understand, then maybe I don't want to have to explain it.  This is a no brainer to me:  I am choosing this way of eating because, well, the other crap is just not good for you.  It's not about weight loss, it is about living a long healthy life and setting a positive example for Brody.  When given the choice between a white potato and a sweet potato I hope he chooses the sweet potato. Not because one is healthy and the other is not (white potatoes actually contain some great nutrients), but because the sweet potato will fuel him better.  He will have choices and he will make his own some day, but while he is young and cannot choose his own food I am responsible for providing him with a balanced plate.  My choice is to give him dairy without added hormones, grass-fed meat, and fruits and vegetables that don't contain pesticides.  We eat this way as a family, and as a result we feel better, are leaner and for the first time in years we are not lethargic.  Coincidence?  Probably not, your diet makes a big difference.  Don't believe me?  I dare you to try and then come back and try to dull my sparkle.

  1. I love, love, love this post! Seriously, I could not have said it better. I want to copy it and post it once a month. As you know, Josh and I have experienced the same thing as you and Aaron. I honestly think that people are threatened when they see people making lifestyle choices that they know are best, but are not doing themselves. I don't get it though. People should be confident in the choices that they make for their family rather than judging the choices that other people make for their families.

    1. I agree 100%. Make a choice and own it! Whatever it may be.

  2. People get kind of weird when you change your habits for the better. I cannot tell you how many times I've been told that I'm going to injure my knees by running or how big I'll get by doing P90X. I have to revert to my inner 8th grader and say WHATEVER with an eye roll.
Your son will be so grateful when he's an adult!

    1. Thanks for your post! I agree, I just let it roll off my shoulders and want to say, "your loss" buy I don't because I want people to just own their choices. Following you as well :)
